MacMurray Ranch
Healdsburg, CA
Latest Review
At MacMurray Ranch, our wines reflect our passion for the special places that give us extraordinary grapes. Beginning with our home vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley, we select grapes from the premier vineyards of Sonoma County, the Central Coast and Willamette Valley. Fred MacMurray bought the ranch in 1941 and began raising cattle here.Today, Fred's daughter, Kate MacMurray, is intimately involved with MacMurray Ranch, helping us share the incredible story of our world-class wines. Talented winemaker Susan Doyle is a native of Tasmania with a degree in Environmental Geography from University of Tasmania and a postgraduate diploma in Viticulture and Enology from Canterbury University in New Zealand. Susan’s crafts Pinot Noir from multiple appellations, not only from the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River Valley, but also from Central Coast and from the famed Santa Rita Hills. It's no secret we're passionate about Pinot Noir, but we're also enamored with cool-climate Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Our white wines reflect the intense aromatics and lush fruit flavors of the fog-laden Sonoma Coast AVA.

This is a very rustic and absolutely charming pace to visit.Bill Wathen and Dick Doré, otherwise known as the Foxen Boys, welcome and invite you to visit to taste their current line up of wines. These guys are the real deal. Robert Parker says it best: "..Foxen is one of the few wineries in California that has not abandoned one of the best grapes in the world, Chenin Blanc. This grape can produce wonderful wines from this region when handled properly. Four brilliant Pinot Noirs have emerged from Foxen in what could have been a very challenging vintage."
