A Texas influenced menu with Tex-Mex,Sandwiches ,Burgers, Salads, and a whole lot of entrees. Chicken fried steak, Chicken fried chicken,Catfish,Shrimp,Pork Chops,Steaks and sides. Biscuits, of course, are a signature menu item at most breakfast houses, and Good Day’s biscuits are homemade, distinctive, and delicious: tall and square, with a consistency more like that of cake than biscuits and a slightly sour, salty aftertaste that made them a lot better with butter than a sweet biscuit would have been. The side of cream gravy was smooth and gooey without being gloppy, a little peppery, and savory with the light taste of pork pan drippings.

Breaux Bridge – Anthony Bourdain with the Travel Channel visited South Louisiana during the month of June. One of his stops was Glenda’s Creole/Cajun Kitchen, a family-owned and operated restaurant located on La. 31/Main Hwy. in the Poche Bridge area. Glenda Broussard and her daughters Kayla and Kasie Rossyion have been serving delicious plate lunches for 11 years. Representatives from the Travel Channel heard about Glenda’s by word of mouth. In June they stopped by to film a segment which is scheduled to debut on the Travel Channel on Monday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. Bourdain was interested in how Glenda prepared her catfish courtbouillon. Glenda says with a big smile “Anthony Bourdain ate everything in his plate.” Glenda’s menu consists of various dishes such as her award-winning sweet potato sweet dough pie and smothered okra. She offers homemade cake, sweet dough pies and caters special occasions. I am putting this place on my list of 100 things to do before I die. The food alone is worth the trip. It is served in several charming locations(CQ's Cabin Café Manitou Beppi's , Nonna's). Not one of those locations is the least bit like any other. Nor are the menus like one another. You’ll find that they vary in décor, style of service, entertainment and price but not in quality. So, you can enjoy casual or fine dining – indoors or out – with stunning views of the water or forest. You can also enjoy dining with the kids (early if you like) or with one another in an adult-only setting at Nonna’s Tavern. Or, for a quiet night, you can pick up take-out foods and beverages at Cavanaugh's Deli & General Store.

In business since 1925;this is one of the oldest and best known pizza places in the US.This is where the New Haven "apizza" (ah-beets) originated. His first pizza; the tomato pie is still on the menu.The signature pie is the White Clam Pizza. This was my own favorite when I lived in Connecticut.Beverages run from 9 flavors of Foxon Park Soda (served here since 1925),several beers on tap,and in bottles.Several wines too.

Starting in 1982 Herb and Helen Gibson. Their son is the kitchen cook and their daughter-in-law is the manager of the wait staff. Helen comes in everyday to oversee and lend a hand. Herb still does all the cooking on the pits. The sliced pork is much more flavorful than the chopped. The chopped is sauced in the kitchen. You probably wont add anything to it.Ribs are tender with just enough outside crust and glazed so that these ribs delicious. They are meaty, chewy and good to the point that "They ought to be against the law". The barbecue chicken has a slightly crisp skin and good smoky flavor all the way to the bone. It’s very moist with juicy droplets inside. The house barbecue sauce on the bird is something to crow about

Scott's, owned and operated by Ricky Parker.Ricky has been working sixteen to twenty hour days, six days a week at Scott’s Barbecue since he was thirteen years old, and he bought the place in 1989. All of the hogs he uses are about 6 months old & have about 3% fat & are raised about 10 miles from the restaurant. He offers the most succulent, perfectly cooked barbecue you will ever find.The sides are coleslaw, potato salad, and beans Order a pulled-pork sandwich, topped with carrot-flecked slaw and suffused with a medium-hot sauce(if you want it a little spicier, tell that to whoever is pulling and chopping the pork behind the counter when you place your order).
