Natives have very strong opinions about the best Chicago Beef. Many will tell you Al's. Only thing you need to order:The stockyard special: thinly sliced beef on bread from the 122-year-old Gonella bakery, enhanced by giardiniera, a fermented vegetable relish made with hot peppers and celery. The meat is top sirloin. The gravy is rich and flavorful, and that's their secret. Great, buttery, skin-on fries, that are not too salty.
