What is is an online directory of businesses that are ranked by visitors votes.

How does the voting work?
Votes are tallied on sub-category and city levels. For example, you can vote for a restaurant as your favorite Italian restaurant in Boston, MA. That vote then "bubbles up" to the parent category and state and national level. In other words, by voting for your favorite Italian restaurant in Boston, your vote for this restaurant will count as a vote for the best restaurant in Massachusetts.

How many times can I vote?
You are allowed to vote as many times per day as you like, but you are only allowed to cast one vote per business per category per day.

Can I add a business to the VotefortheBest directory?
Yes, though we ask that you make sure your business is not already listed first. You can quickly check by clicking "Vote Now" and searching for your business. If you can't find your business in the resulting page, you can click "Add it here" and then fill out the new business form. All submitted business are reviewed and turned live within 48 hours if approved.

Why should I sign up for an account?
You must sign up for an account to vote - though you may also use your Facebook account to sign in. Once you have a VotefortheBest account you can track your votes and reviews under "My Profile".

No, it is against our Terms of Use to set up multiple accounts.

What does do with my personal account information?
We hate spam as much as you do, so we will never sell your private information. We maintain personal account information only to communicate with our users who have opted to receive our updates.

Can I vote for my own business?
Yes, you are allowed to vote for your own business once per day per subcategory.

How can I change the information listed on my business?
If you feel that your business information is not listed correctly, please go to the Contact Us page and send us a note with your requested changes. We are also happy to list your web address and Facebook Page in the listing. We will process your updates as soon as possible (usually within a day or two).

I own a business that is listed on this site and it has a negative review. Can I remove it?
No, our review system is unfiltered and we do not remove or reorder reviews. We do, however, monitor reviews for foul language.
